Primary School No. 11 in Starachowice is implementing the project “Peaceful Schools with Anger-free classes” as part of the Erasmus+ program from 2020. The schools implementing the project are primary schools from Poland, Turkey, Italy, Latvia and Romania.
On May 15-19, 2023, a partner visit was held as part of short-term staff training. Teachers from partner schools from Turkey, Italy and Latvia came to Starachowice. As part of the project, three staff training visits have taken place so far: Turkey, Poland and Latvia, two short-term training visits for students: Romania and Italy. For some teachers who came to SP11 from partner schools, it was the second visit to our city.
The official welcome of guests took place on May 15, 2023 at the SP11 gym. From the partner schools came: headmasters of primary and secondary school – Tuncay Altun, Ali Ekber Ildirim and Ismail Alabay, deputy headmaster and teachers from schools in Latvia – Evita Pukste, Anita Kanca and Janis Pamiljans and teachers of the Italian school – Cettina Foti and Barbara Seter. Among the invited guests were representatives of local authorities: Deputy Mayors Mrs. Elżbieta Gralec and Mr. Marcin Gołębiowski, Head of the Department of Education, Culture and Sport of the Municipal Office in Starachowice – Mr. Mariusz Majewski, Mr. Sławomir Jama – Inspector of the Board of Education in Kielce and Mr. Kamil Stanos – guardian of the Youth City Council.
The headmaster of the school, Mr. Krzysztof Rokita, welcomed the guests, presented the course of the project and the plan of the visit to Starachowice. SP11 students singing in the school choir prepared an artistic performance consisting of traditional Polish songs. Aleksandra Skiba (vocal) and Jakub Malinowski (saxophone) presented their musical talent individually. Students of the 8dw bilingual class presented the English version of the song “Rzepka”. The unique decoration of the gym was prepared by Mrs. Magdalena Nowak.
After the ceremony, the guests went to a specially prepared classroom for the training, where they talked with representatives of the City Hall, Youth City Council, SP11 teachers and students of the 8dw bilingual class.
Our guests spent the afternoon exploring Starachowice, visited the Market Square, the Pasternik reservoir and the Lake Lubianka reservoir.
